Cenote Ponderosa is a great first cavern dive, and one of the reasons is that it introduces divers to nearly every technique and environmental oddity of the caverns in Mexico. Here, guide Natalie L Gibb places a primary reel to lead her divers safely to the permanent cavern line. Divers will then drift through light beams, the halocline, and the suprisingly vast spaces of the underground aquifer.
