The Pit is unlike any other cenote dive in existence. It’s a deep, cylindrical sink hole with just a little bit of beautifully decorated cavern. This photo shows the “open water” portion of the dive, with the diver gliding out over a whispy hydrogen sulfide could at about 90 feet. The Pit has 100-ft vertical light beams, white cave formations, a halocline, and the cloud, as well as some small archeological remains and points of interest,
