WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS CERTIFICATION?
The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course certifies divers to independently plan and execute no-decompression dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters/ 130 feet. Divers may use nitrox blends up to and including 100% oxygen in order to extend a dive’s no-decompression limits. This program may be combined with TDI Decompression Procedures or the Extended Range Course.
The worst part of a dive is ending it. No-decompression limits come too quickly, and breathing gas never lasts long enough. If you are as addicted to diving as we are, you almost always want to spend just a little more time underwater. While all good dives must come to an end, it’s possible to greatly increase your dive times by using multiple nitrox blends and a stage tank. The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course introduces divers to the use of gas blends of up to 100% oxygen as well as the use of stage bottles. It serves as a stand-alone course for divers who simply want longer dives, and prepares divers who want to go deeper for subsequent courses including decompression procedures.
WHERE WILL I DIVE DURING THE COURSE?
The theory portion of the course is conducted in the classroom at Under the Jungle, where you’ll have the space and tools to focus on dive planning. Confined water skills and practice are conducted in the open water of the cenotes, and check out dives are completed in the ocean, where you can drift over several dive sites in a single, long dive. If the ocean is blown out (or simply if you prefer alternate sites), the course may be completed at one of the deep lagoons in the area.
WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE ADVANCED NITROX COURSE?
The course combines dive theory, in-water skill practice, and scenarios to prepare divers to independently plan and execute advanced nitrox dives after certification.
