WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS CERTIFICATION?
Divers certified through the TDI Decompression Procedures Course are qualified to plan and execute stage decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters/ 150 feet. Divers may use enriched air or oxygen as a decompression gas if previously certified to do so. The program is designed as a stand-alone course, or may be taught in conjunction with the TDI Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range courses.
The recreational dive limits are just that — limits. How many times have you ended a dive because you were close to your NDL and forced to ascend? There will always be limits in diving, but if you are ready to push them a little farther, learning to safely execute decompression dives is a logical step in your diving career. TDI’s Decompression Procedures Course opens an ocean of possibilities, taking divers deeper and allowing for increased bottom times. Once certified, there are plenty of exciting decompression dives to do in the area. Let’s plan a deep dive at the Puerto Morelos shipwreck or a drift dive drift the famed Cantile Wall.
WHERE DO I GET TO DIVE DURING THE COURSE?
The theory portion of the course is conducted in the classroom at Under the Jungle. From there, we take off to the open cenotes for confined water practice. Check out dives and skill scenarios are run in the ocean, where you can free fall into clear darkness and encounter big life hiding along the coral wall. If the conditions are uncooperative, the course may be completed in one of the deep lagoons in the area.
